Creepy Club Lava

They did it again. This time, the undead had successful conquered the former catholic school, turning it into a creepy party where the zombie maids and female vampires served up glasses of Blood Mary and Graveyard to willing victims. Located at CHIJMES, this was Club Lava‘s Halloween Party.

The crew at Club Lava transformed our comfy favorite mid-week drink hangout into the twilight of the walking dead. Our friendly waitress was a blood hungry zombie.

We came simply dressed as three black cats but we were impressed at how much effort the whole crew had put in to make it a successful Halloween party. Besides the scary characters, there are superheroes too. The Flash, Green Lantern, Batman and Wonder Woman are at your service to protect you from the zombies.

These days, Club Lava has become an ideal mid-week chill out waterhole. Every Wednesday is Guys & Girls Night. $20 nett per person, free flow from 9pm to 11.30pm. Live band, The Seventh Element plays from 10 pm onwards.

I had such a blast previously. After getting “high” from Flaming Lava, I started dancing to Gangnam Style by PSY!

Watch Out for the Zombies!

Oh no, dear Christina’s in trouble. She received an invitation to *SCAPE Museum of Horrors and zombies are all out to get her!

Following two successful installations, *SCAPE partnered with Movie Mania to present a 4D format of Halloween experience.

Both Christina and myself are not fans of horror movies and creepy stuff but since her hubby was not in town, I had to shoulder the responsible of entering the disastrous zone with her.

Our journey started with a short video clip in what seems like a briefing area. The man in the video had been experiencing ways to cure his daughter of deadly bites from zombie.

Our tour brought us through various operating rooms where the living dead camouflaged and waiting for a chance to ambush on innocent souls like us!

Oh yes! We survived the zombies!!!

To hell.. I am not going!

Lights, camera and SCREAM! Vampires and zombies lurk underneath the atrium of Singapore Flyer turning the lush garden into The Undead Forest.

It is all hell break loose as the Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest giant observation wheel invites media and blogger on 11 Sep 2012 for a sneak preview of their month-long Halloween extravaganza inspired by Western & Asian horror movie characters. Following their success last year,  Singapore Flyer is collaborating with Singapore Polytechnic’s Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management this year to ensure no soul walking out alive..

Characters from popular horror shows such as The Maid, The Walking Dead and Stephen King’s IT welcome you as you attempt to conquer your fears. Expect screams and cries as these characters spring out from the brushes or behind the trees and cave.

The value tickets come in two different packages. Choose the FrightFest Value Pack which includes a ride up Singapore Flyer to calm your beating nerves and racing hearts.

STAR by the Bay

Close to 20,000 people turned out for the Straits Times Appreciates Readers (STAR) Concert held at Gardens by the Bay last Sunday. Readers of Singapore’s daily paper were treated to a concert with popular bands like Korean group 4Minute, American rock band Boys Like Girls as well as Singapore Idol champions Taufik Batisah and Hady Mirza.

Early birds were rewarded with a carnival treat of stilt walkers, jugglers, unicyclists, door gifts from sponsors. One of the highlights for the STAR Carnival was the cosplay costume with characters like Loki (Avengers), Chun Li (Street Fighters), Digimons and other popular anime characters.

My favorite contestants that day were the mother-daughter team dressed up as Chun Li and mini Chun Li. They won 3rd in the group category. Digimons team was crowned winner of the group category. Another hot favorite, Loki, won the best individual category character.

As one of the main sponsors for the STAR Concert, we were invited to be on site to promote our upcoming event. As you can see from our smiley faces, we had a hell lot of fun promoting our Halloween packages.
