The Hulk battles Ironman at STGCC

When I was growing up, comics and manga were a big part of my life. I would often spend the bulk of my money on Dragonball and Doraemon comics. Every Saturday afternoon, I would glue myself to the television to watch Cardcaptor Sakura or Slam Dunk on Channel 8. Imagine my excitement when I found out that Singapore Toy, Game and Comic Convention was coming to town again.

Held on 1-2 September 2012, Singapore TGCC was hosted at a brand new venue, at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center. For me the highlight of the exhibition was actually the community of cosplay enthusiasts.

East meets West, Naruto, Superman, Ironman were among the popular western comic and eastern manga characters spotted that day.

The 90-member strong Star Wars 501st Legion was there to showcase their members’ personal collection of Star Wars figurines and public were encouraged to snap a photo with their favorite Star Wars characters and proceeds would go to charitable organizations.

My friend, Otto Fong, was there to promote his latest Adventure of Sir Fong. Find out more about Sir Fong here and remember to like his Facebook page.
